I rarely comment on this forum, but I'm going to comment here, just to put a stop to this unnecessary conversation before it starts.

Tabla is an incredibly deep art, and the great masters of that art have each pursued different facets of it to sublime perfection. Yet no one person, no matter how talented, dedicated, or blessed, could possibly achieve mastery in every domain of tabla. If you browse this forum, you will find the names of many artists worth exploring, whose work shines in different domains - each has worked a lifetime to develop specific techniques and compositions. While anyone will grant that one player can be technically superior to another, the BEST is simply non-existent. There are too many wonderful artists playing this instrument, and to place one on an absolute pinnacle would be a slight to masters of equal prowess.

100% agree to Vivek.
There is no comparison between artists (in any kind of music). Each one is unique and legend in his/her own art and creativity.
Such kind of question shall not be raised for musicians.

Yeah...

...but who's the best?

Ha ha only joking
It's a ridiculous question in the first place as you have eloquently expressed.
