The chutta I have and all the ones I've seen for sale on line have a circular cross section, like a donut. Mmm, donut. However, I would very much like to get a pair that have a more /\ pointed cross section. My drums feel much more stable on these. Anyone know where I could get a pair, short of travelling to India?

Yes, I know the correct answer is "learn better technique". :-)

We have the rings that taper to the top at the AACM store in San Rafael but the last batch came in very crazy colors and designs, not many straight colors without at least gold tinsel and sequins, but they definately are more stable than the other style.
