I just want to thank the person who recommended this text (I could not find the old thread). Pure Gold, I'd say.

Did a quick search - this is currently the cheapest price I could find online - most others are between $85. and $125.

[Vintage Tabla Repertory : Drum Compositions of North Indian Classical Music (with 2 CD)
Author: Wegner, Gert-Matthias
Year: 2004
[ 29 cms., pp. xiv+544, ills., plates ]
[ Price: RS. 1,850.00, US$ 43.53 ]

The price has gone up considerably since I got my copy. Most likely it's cheaper in India or directly from Munshiram Manoharlal pub.

This text has a WEALTH of knowledge in it. I dont think its really appropriate for beginners, but I do think its a treasure for those who can figure out Nikkas/notation etc.

Just my 2 cents.
