Just to clarify, I am not selling the sitar. A house clearing company in UK got this sitar at the residence of a collector (an old man requiring private nursing facility) of 90 different musical instruments among many other things. It seems they need to sell this sitar for raising the fund for welfare of the person. I will just connect any interested person with them. I suggested them to put the details of the sitar on eBay. Not sure if they have put or not. If this would help their noble cause it will be Good.

I notice there is also a signed copy of Pt. Debu Chaudari's book "Sitar and it's Technique" in the picture. I also see the sitar is strung in the classic Senia Gharana style. My first teacher was a student of Pt Chaudhari and told me that Pt Chaudhari had a long standing relationship Bishan Dass and sourced instruments from him for his students. Given the signed copy of the book, and the stringing of the sitar I wonder if this sitar belonged to one of Pt Chaudhari's students . If so, there could be an interesting provenance with this instrument.
