Really a terrible year for rudra veena and dhrupad.....
First Ust. Asad Ali Khan
Then Ust. Fahimuddin Dagar
and now Ust. Shamsuddin Faridi Desai

I can find nothing on this beyond that one blog. Does anyone have more confirmation on his passing?

I got the word from Thomas Meisenheimer on his Facebook-page. He studied with Shamsuddin Faridi Desai.

Such sad news - another immeasurable loss to the beenkar tradition. My his soul rest in peace.
