I've posted another small video on Youtube of Bahauddin playing after he did some work on the jawari of my veena. We raised the bridge by 4 mm changing the sound for the better (also changing the playability...ouchh...)

enjoy

Yeah... We were having some stringrattling on the kharaj. (well Bahauddin had, since his righthand is a lot more forcefull than mine). Right now there is about a pinky space under the strings. When we raised the bridge (done by my dad) the volume increased dramatically. Raising the bridge caused another problem: the angle of the string (where it leaves the jawari on the back) became steeper, causing the thicker strings to lift off the jawari so the jawari also had the be re-angled. I've played her now for about 3 weeks now, my calluses have increased, my strenght has grown, so it's alright now... I just love the way she sounds right now: the increased volume, the jawari done well... an amazing instrument.

Very cool clip.
I love the camera angle.
It is amazing to watch the dance of his right hand.
