Hello guys!

Sorry for definitely repeating such a topic but...
I have a bit more than a week in Banaras starting the day after tomorrow and would love to be able to do a little intensive w/ any good and serious sitar teacher there.

I will be back in town in January but would love to have something to work on these next few months before my return. I would love, as well, suggestions from you that are already experienced on this learning process, if you think my idea makes sense.

I am a musician since childhood and I also have a deep respect for the gurukul tradition in any regards, so I would appreciate you guys' help!

Thanks
Jose

The BHU, Benaras Hindu University, will be able to give you some info on teachers.

You can also go to Bengali Tola, the street that runs parallel between the Ghats & the main road. Plenty of music teachers can be contacted via any of these shops.

Do you have a particular style in mind or are you more of a beginner?

Top players (That I know)
Amarnath Mishra,
Shivanath Mishra - and his son
Goswami brorthers

If you are just a beginner and don't have much time, I advice you go to 'International music ashram', they can provide you a decent sitar teacher.
