This app can be used online as a tabla theka machine.
http://www.tablalab.com/?page_id=22
It is actually a practice tool for tabla players but I thought others might find it useful for its theka loop capability (use the top topic in the list.)
The online version is full and free.
Hope you find it useful.
Let me know if I

Very nice and helpful to sitar players also to get a basic theka for practice

Your BPM count seems to be much lower than other programs and I think it is too low (i.e. your 20 BPM would be much higher on other programs) compared to other programs I have tried

It would be nice if you could add a tanpura drone to this as well and I am sure that tabla players would like a lehra.

Hi Kirya,

Thanks for your message.
Yes the Bpm count is actually counting groups of beats per minute.
So it's different from other programs in that way.
I thought it was nice to just have two digits instead of showing as hundreds etc.
It is just half or a quarter of what it might be described elsewhere.

The other features are beyond the scope of this app as it stands but maybe in a future release...

M.

I downloaded this app earlier today. Excellent app in my opinion, this is just what I needed to work on my rhythm.
Plenty of exercises to keep you busy. Also plenty of scope to enhance your ability to improvise with tan work.
Marc tells me an update is due around 10/11.
Personal rating would have to be 10/10.
Great work Marc I'm one happy customer.

How much is it?

I am a sitar player searching for a simple tabla machine for on my Macbook. Something like iShala but then for Macbook. Just the basic theka's in all tempos and tunable pitch to practice along. Is this Riyaz the right thing for me or are there others who are better?
