Got this delightful old sitar in a week ago for refitting. Very warm woody male voice this instrument has. I've kept it tuned to C. No need to have this delicate jewel get all bent out of shape. There are some reeeely sub zero features on this one. Thought you sitarphyles would enjoy looking this gorgeous baby over. Cheers, all !

is the decor celluloid or antler? those wide bands of edging are very typical of S. Indian instruments- wonder if it is from lower Deccan origins or sumpin. whooee, again.

The badge on it says " Sandhurst Road, Bombay ". It is possible it was made in Benaras and farmed out to this shop much like the RKS sitars have a special brand that goes to Bhargava in Mumbai. The trim is celluloid except for the carved bone tips. Enjoyed bringing this one back from the dead !
