I've just stumbled onto a very nice little site with some terrific introductory material on Indian Classical music and especially useful material on thekas, kaidas, laggis, tihais, etc ... WITH AUDIO EXAMPLES to illustrate the concepts explained. Well worth having a look at both tabla beginners and re-beginners like me (i.e. having once been a beginner, and then dropped it for a long time, only to take it up again from the beginning just a few months ago, May I think it was).

p.s. it is doubtful that "re-beginner" is a bona fide word, but what other word would be better?
