It is probably a "False Powderpost Beetle" and is a problem with some woods, particularly mango wood (Aam).  I have had good results by putting it in a plastic sack with some insecticide and ting it up for a few weeks. (do not let the insecticide get on the syahi).

Unfortunately I do not remember which insecticide I used.  I know that naphthalene balls do not work.
