Hello out there, I go to India again next year and I would go to a music school in about 3 months, and playing intense tabla, I bought a set last time I was away, but is still a beginner. I wanted to hear what types of schools that finally I'm looking where I play as much as I can, and want to learn as much as I can, know it is up to me. So would hear about in maybe write a little about what to go for. Some say that one can get in a music ashram. I will not know what the field means and how it works, hope can help out there Thanks many times

Mukta Das tablas (from Calcutta) are significantly cheaper than this ... wonder why, because AFAIK he is also a reputed tabla maker,

Hey!

You will get nowhere with these famous vendors unless you go with a famous artist or someone who tend to get good sets from them. They cater to big artists mostly due to the fact that once they get the recognization from them then most of their students and associated organizations will reach out to them. This is how they run business and get a great ROI.

Cassius Khan's response:
( I am not endorsing his current Tabla maker but I believe his story should you some background on how you can get ripped off.)
