hey,

So Ive started to listen to these and have started to save them on the computer at work (dont have one at home  ) and Ive only saved 3 so far as its taking about 1/2hour+ or more for each one to save. Although I wont be able to take this home and really listen to it... at least I will have something to go back to when I want. So, THANKS AGAIN.

However, the first few songs I have listed to kind of sounded like Shahid Parvez in some parts? Does anyone else think that?
I mainly got that "shahid" feeling from these songs:

Nikhil Banerjee-Bhimpalasi:a 19.5 MB
Nikhil Banerjee-Bhimpalasi:b 28.4 MB
Nikhil Banerjee-Bhimpalasi:c 12.2 MB
Nikhil Banerjee-Bhimpalasi 5

you arent trying to pull a fast one on me are you?

I am listening to Bilashanhi right now and I am hearing the very low string growls so I know thats not Shahid.

Thanks again, This is turning out to be a total Nikhil Sitar Friday and Im lovin every Sitar minute of it!

After I figure out which are my favorite songs.. I will be back to ask if anyone can tell me which CD's I could find them on if that is possible.

cheers

Also- that Bhimplasi is on a CD with Multani- two seperate afternoon ragas, and they are both superb- if you can find that CD go for it!

Sitarmac,

I noticed when I went into your home page on Monday to finish the other half of the Nikhil downloads all the "ragas" were missing and there were some different ones on there.

My question is... can I just go into your homepage on any given day and see what you have up on your page to listen to and download? or will the page/link change everytime you update the "raga" list?

Im not the most computer friendly person so your help would be appreciated.

thx

Hey Drew-
Yes, I randomly put stuff in there now a-days, so one will never know whats in store. Right now I have a Kushal Das performance. I'm really liking this guy's sound.....He loves Nikhil-ji and shines that influence through....I'm really liking it!

Josh, I'm also enjoying the Kushal Das stuff, but I think he unquestionably sounds more influenced by VK style than NB Maihar style, at least in the Alap I am now listening to.

I disagree. I don't hear any evidence of VK. I do hear shades of Nikhil-Da, but to each his own-
