Hello tablamates,

Next week I have acompany a singer in a private party. Can anyone plz arm me to the teeth with some good dadra variations for vilambit and drut tempo. I would also like some lagies but it will not be a "small request" any more.

Thanx bro!

Thanx alot. It was a nice variation of dadra! Is it a drut version of makemoney-gahrana?

Ps: I have already so many variations of dadra from my guruji but there is never enough to learn. Right?

dadra.........
I find this to be a mind twister.

Dha te Dha Ge te te
Dha Ge na te te te

Dhate DhaGe tete DhaGe nate tete , the tete is reverse ie. 1,2

try 2 and 2 or 3 and 3, mix em up.
Dha te Dha Ge te te
Dha te Dha Ge te te ...
Dha Ge na te te te
Dha Ge na te te te ...

very nice! are both tete and tetete reversed (1,2)? any particular reason why you start with the first finger? more emphasis?

According to me the reverse part is because of the speed. When I my self start the tetee with the first finger then I have more speed and more volume. Because the tee with middel finger and ring finger after the the te with index finger gives more volume and then there is enough space and distance between the beats, dayan and the finger (index finger) ready for dha/na/ta/chick.

thanx scodoha. It is nice and new for me.

Sorry I'm late in replying, but hopefully this will still be of some use.
One of my favorite laggis to use in dadra is:

dhati gege taka dhine nana kena
ta ti gege taka dhine nana ge na

both ge strokes played tight and punchy, of course

All else, thanks for the replies - I'm always looking for good variations and thoras in dadra

Thanks for sharing - I like it. It has a similar rhythm, but a totally different sound. I'm always looking for diversity in my dadra accompaniment too, so thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I can send you an MP3 recording, but you may have to sit tight for a little while - I just moved to India, and still don't have internet at home.
