I'm writing a chapter for a book about my wonderful Guru Ustad Shahid Parvez khan. A while back, there was a thread about Ustadji. Somewhere in it, there was a story about his childhood friend. This friend said that Ustadji was the best ???something??? player in the town and that he was really funny and told lots of jokes. Does anybody recall the friend's name, and what instrument Ustadji played when he was younger?????? This will be awesome if I can get the info as I would love to include it in the chapter.

thanks for any help :-)
Adam

When I was living in Namibia (SW Africa), I used to perform with a tabla player there named Fauna Bose. He told me that he grew up with Ust.-ji and that he was an awesome "Karuum" player. I'm not sure if that was what you were looking for, but there it is for what its worth.......
