Hi everyone, I'm new to this beautiful forum, and I'm here to ask you for help with my sarod.
I am a beginner on this instrument, but in tuning I have seen that the bridge always falls. going on the internet I found that many sarods actually have ropes that hold the bridge in place.
mine has no holes on the bridge where to connect the wires and also where there are the tied ropes I don't see any other places to add. how can I do?
P.S. i show you the photo of my bridge.

I tried to fix it like this.
1) I don't know if it's okay
2) if this is ok, which ninth can I use to lock the string?

The 2 feet that you have touching the skin, should really be touching a leather strap which THEN touches the skin.
Strings should go around where those 2 feet meet the main bridge & then go OVER THE SIDES to 2 pins going into the wooden body ?!!?!?

Thank you for answering.
I have no other pins dedicated to the string to stop the bridge.

you say that I have to go around the bridge first and then pass the ropes behind the pins?

how can I to add another part of skin under the bridge? ( part of skin's bag or fabric?)

I'm in Italy and I don't have the availability to get things to me, above all because they would cost so much, but they wouldn't even find themselves

Can you get a small piece of dried skin from a local butcher's shop?

Hello, I believe that the bridge you have does not work.
Where did you bought it?
What style of Sarod do you have?
Ali Akbar Khan or Amjad Ali Khan?

My Sarod is Ali Akbar Khan style, 25 strings, and it works like that.
Please see pictures of other Sarods on sale website.
The 4 strings called Tampuras are not at the same height on the bridge. ???
The first tuned in Sa, is at the height of the two chicaris.
The other 3 are lower. Talk to Lars on the RainCity music website.
