A really lovely, warm tone on this but is it a Hiren Roy?!?!?!
Come on - What's it worth then ?!?!?

Looks like a well made sitar, but I don't think it is Hiren Roy.

My reasons for doubting it are:
1) The Pegs and tabli carving are not bad, but are a bit clunky in execution for a HR.  (i.e. not as refined as your average HR.)
2) The tabli swans are not Hiren Roy in style.
3) The cross cut scoring on the thumb rests is not a Hiren Roy thing, and I have not seen thumb rests like that on a Hiren Roy.
4) The metal tailpiece is not a Hiren Roy thing.
5) The celluloid decor around the edge of the tumba and Ghullu are a bit sloppy for a Hiren Roy.

I do like the penwork though, and the tabli carving is nicely bold.
Don't know what maker it is, but IMHO it is not HR.

Finely crafted. Curious to hear the sound, especially sustain over some long meends.
