There are actually variations of Hamsadhwani where they use Madhyama instead of the G -- mostly sung in Carnatic music  -- this is the composition most frequently used to show this. The very famous version by M Balamuralikrishnan -- the gat starts at about 13 minutes




Here is another simpler version in case you want to learn to play it on sitar

And Kishori Amonkar has a way of unraveling the secrets of the raag -- here is a quite different bandish that starts on the tar saptak S



And it does not get much better than this in Tarana
