Just got this delivered off Ebay, this afternoon. Nameplate say MUHAMMAD FAYYAZ SITAR MAKER.
Just look at the way it was delivered - NO damage either. Bit of gourd covering flaking but NO toomba damage.
Strange in that not only is it a SIX Stringer but its longest chikari starts where the PA would normally be with on lt ONE chikari peg along from the taraf set.?!?!?!

Only FOUR holes in the tar gahan too so that longer chikari has to go down the side & not through the tar gahan itself. Had to sort out the 2 pegs as well but have it all strung up now. The taraf strings on it were clean & fine, bar the 12th which needed to be added.
I've finished it off with new strings so what do you all think of this? It has a resonant tone to it but a good sound.

All strung up now. Sound has some resonance too.
A certain UK player thinks the deco on the tabli is tacky - does anyone else think this too?
