Hi All
This fancy old sitar is the third one of the 6 mentioned being brought from Kolkatta to Varanasi a few weeks ago. It has its own folder too.

Again no name plate but I was 'assured' it was MPS as 'my' fitter said his grandfather did this kind of decoration when he worked for MPS. Some bad loss of edge decoraton and both chikari pegs missing. ALL Assam Tun wood & I think completely dry now & light as a feather.

Its Jawari was quite open & this was stopping the taraf from ringing correctly. Once it was closed a bit the taraf rang better. It has a very good bottom end for the bass strings.
