Just 'uncovered' this old Beauty in the 'Music Room'. Whatcha all feel about it? Is it a Hiren Roy? If not, what might it be????
Am giving it a really good clean-up today & then we'll see/HEAR what it's like.

Cleaned it up this morning but found it difficult to 'get round', if you know what I mean.

A really good sound but the actual 'physical' act of actually PLAYING it was not so easy.
The action is a little high so maybe.......?!?!?!?

Anyone else found this out with several different 'styles' of sitars????

I find there are a lot of different factors that determine how easy a sitar is to play.
- Size, shape, and thickness of the neck
- height, arch, and condition of frets
- height of strings coming off the nut at the first fret
- height of strings up the neck
- straightness of the neck (I.e. warping up on one side or the other
- length scale of the instrument, which effects the tightness of strings when tuned to common pitches. ( i.e. I tuned a Naskar to D for a lesson, as the teacher tuned to D. It hated being that tight and was a bitch to play. Back to C# and it was great)

Sometimes it is really hard to tell why a particular sitar is hard to play.
Sometime a sitar plays like butter, but you cant tell why.

And since you asked,
No it is not a Hiren Roy, IMHO.
I don't have any idea who made it though.

EXACTLY C ?!?!!?
The neck feels a bit bulky for me - between thumb & fingers so....
Also the fret curvature.
Perfect for someone but not for me.
