I used to be under the impression that the best kind of practice was an intense focused practice of one or two things at most, but if I interpret the following item correctly that may no longer be the case ....

Having just stumbled onto this new idea called "variable practice" (and "varied practice" in wikipedia) I'm trying to figure out how this affects my tabla practice as I have been laboring under the older assumption which may turn out to be wrong ...

Any ideas ...?
