And A Happy New Year from Varanasi in North India!!!!!

Weather absolutely terrible here.
Bloody hot during the day & cold in the evening & night

I must admit I DO miss the snow at xmas here. It's what makes xmas what it is in the UK.
Although I think Brits may well be cursing the snow at the moment! We even hear how bad it is back home in the newspapers here.

How is the rest of Europe & the States?

Best wishes to Chandra and David for having this great site, as well as all the contributors that enhanced my Sitar playing knowledge during 2009.
I am counting on all of you for 2010, many thanks
From Canada

I'm celebrating the day by attending a full day concert (^^,)
8am to 10pm. What more could one ask for, really??!!

Have a great year ahead all you fellow sitarists and hope 2010 brings more great sitarists, vocalists, etc to the world!

To all my friends here on the Forum - May all of you have a great Holiday and a wonderful New Year. No matter your background we can all take a moment to wish each other well this holiday season. That's the beauty of this forum, we all share a love of a common interrest - the love of these instruments and music - and we can lend the spice of each of our own traditions to the mix to make a wondeful blend to be shared by all. My wish would be that this friendship & understanding could be shared by the whole world.
As always my tagline will remain - Peace thru music - I will add today - peace to us all.

Your Friend

The main highlight of the show was Ustaad Shujaat Khan & Shashank playing a jugalbandhi in Shuddh Kalyan. AMAZING MUSIC!!! I recorded the whole thing on my phone (not-so-great quality). Its in .amr format.

Gundecha brothers also performed Bhimpalasi along with a Celloist, Flautist and a Saxophone player. Quite good as well.

Check out my eSnips folder... http://www.esnips.com/web/IndianClassicalConcerts

Pt. Ajay Pohankar, Ronu Majumdar, Anindo Chatterjee, Alam Khan, Madhup Mudgal performed as well
