I saw a YouTube pakhawaj posting in which Chatrapati Singh performs in Krishna Tal. I counted it as 20 beats and at the very beginning there is a cymbal giving tali on 1,3,4,5,9,10,11,12, 16, 17 and 18. Is there anyone that can throw some light on this tal?

Some of the tal that site gives are not correctly written.

teental is not correct( why tete da at the end?)
deepchandi, the bol GHe is wrong (DHADHIN-DHADHATHIN-THATHIN-DHADHADHIN-)
mattal is wrong (or maybe it's a version that i don't know)
Dhamar is not correct
The one they are calling "Chou" is called ada chautal (14) and it's going like this DHIN trkte DHIN NA THUN NA KA TA trkte DHIN NA DHIN DHIN NA

while playing, you can use 'ge' instead of 'dha' or anything you want sometime, but it's not correct to write it like they do..

in my humble opinion...

If you go to YouTube and search: Chatrapati Singh - Krishna Tal then you can listen and maybe one of you can comment on it, plus you'll hear one of the late great pakhawaji's. At the very beginning there is a cymbal giving talis.....If you haven't ever heard Chatrapati Singh it's worth a listen.
