Hello Friends,

How do you practice Kaida notes? Do you practice one variation at one session or you try to play the whole kaida?

Thanks

When I practice my Kaidas I usually play teentaal alone for half an hour. After I proceed with the Kaida then play a variation, then play the kaida again, following with another variation. I usually do the second step for an hour.

I think it's a good idea to clap and recite the kaida before playing it. That's how you will learn the time cycle and how to play in time. It's also a great way to memorize the kaida. I like to break up the kaida and play each variation seperately and then play it together. i find it a challenge to memorize kaida's, but like everything the more time you put into the more you get out of it. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks! for your time and suggestions. I try to play one variation/palta at one session for at least 1 to 2 hours just to see how clear I can play it. It is my nature to go fast but when I see that I am loosing the clarity then I always come back to slow speed and play it again slowly.

man, that is crazy! I don't know if i could ever play one palta for so long. I remember someone had said you can play paltas, 10, 100 of times but when you get into the 500's (or 1000's) then you start to feel it and feel the possibilities. That may be true but you can also blindly do one thing forever and still not feel it. You can also focus on what you do and you prolly wont have to do it 1000s of times to get what you want out of it.
