So I'm reading The Tabla of Lucknow by James Kippen. I have to say this book is so full of historical facts that i'ts a great source for some overall study of the culture of Lucknow. I highly reccomend this book to anyone who wants to know a thourough history of the tabla in Lucknow, as well as many other contributing aspects about the courts, Nawabs and British influence/constraints on the courts. Pluss it comes with atape where all the examples are recited then played so it's a great study source. Also has some compositions played Dheli style, the Lucknow.
