The gear head in me is screaming ! ! ! The pegs are way past due for changing out. Aside from their obvious shortness compared to a more standard height appearance, it's the peg holes proximity to the neck that has me screaming. I can see where the wire ends have scratched a dirt track dough nut around the peg hole. With the tuck in method of attaching strings, this issue would be better resolved but with the standard wire tab down method, damage has taken place. Please get those pegs changed, reshafted or restrung tucked in ! ! !

Hi Tony,

yes, a complete overhaul is long overdue. As you can see this instrument had a very busy life.
It needs a new bridge, new pegs and new frets and polish. Now that I have switched to another main sitar I can part with it for the time it takes to restore it to full glory. When it was in daily use that time just was not there. Cosmetics aside, it is still fully functional.

Hey Rex. I'm now "stationed" in Merrillville, Indiana. That's in the NW corner of the state and just an hour away from Chicago. It snowed yesterday - makes ya think ! ! ! I'm here to gladly take on any and all sitar repairs, tweaks and builds. I'll PM you the details.

The black one in the first link is certainly genuine IMHO. Compare to photos below.
