Well, every now and then you hear beginners in here hunting for lefty sitars, so if you could buy and tweak it up nicely (looks like it could use some TLC) then if you found someone in the lefty market you'd have a heck of a nice starter axe for them!

How could I refuse a HEMEN?????? I'll have to travel over to Leeds with a fibrebox as soon as the seller calls me to discuss meeting.

Would I really want to keep it all to myself MWAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHH !!!

Sorry about that!
Nick

Pretty soon I should be putting up that Naskar's/Hemen/Hiren Roy on ebay but I'll put it here first & give you all a good look at it. I was playing it last night & it's sharing 1st place with a Rajesh Sharma GP I got in Varanasi for sheer playabilty & marvellous sound quality. You heard what Johnathon Mayer said after he played it at my place that time.

HA HA HA
I'm to go & meet the seller tomorrow 11.30am at Bradford Bus Station for sheer convenience for both of us. I'll give it a good clean up before I replace all the strings. Then set to work with the camera.
It seems she bought it from a friend over 25 years ago whose boyf was an old hippy so god knows how old it might actually be. She doesn't play though & just wanted a decoration. GOOD!!!!!
We shall see!!!

Well Her We Go Then.
The link for the Hemen sitar cleaned up & restrung. The jawari's a bit open on the first string so I'll close it a little to get more sustain. I strung it KP to try out its bass qualities. Seems quite good but will have to see as it settles down. Remember it hasn't been strung for well over 25 years. The lady got it from the daughter of the guy who bought it in India. She 'only' paid

It DID indeed scrub up well. Surprised me as to how well it looked afterwards. It has a very nice tone to it. I really wish it was a rightie as I'd be very inclined to keep it.
