Hello Mica, It is good you posted your message on this forum. I hope others here can help you more than me. Welcome to the world of the sitar, a most beautifull instrument. To the other people on this forum: Refreshing! Here is a genuine cry from the heart from someone who wants to learn to play sitar. We all started this way, remember? (sigh) Let's help him all we can. Keep the english plain and straight. Mica, no need to say sorry for your english, it is 100 times better than I can speak your language . It is good you know that a souvenir/cheap sitar is not good. There are many people here who know very much about sitars. Keep checking here for replies to your post. I wish you every success on your sitar journey.

Welcome ! The closest contact for you would be Mr. Andras Kozmo. He is at "RIMPA" - (Ravi Shankar Institute for Music and Performing Arts) in Budapest. Best wishes.

Hi Mica, I've dealt with Jens Eckert (from http://www.india-instruments.de ) many times and find him very helpfull; great service. I think he's your best bet for shopping an instrument in Europe, or you'll have to look a secondhand instrument. Remco
