Harry's mohan veena was stolen from the airport in Chicago, I know it's the sitar forum but a lot of Chicagoland people here please keep an eye out for a Mohan Veena, pine body. It'll look like this one: http://raincitymusic.com/mohanveena1.htm except it has inlay on the headstock and I think a black pickguard. Black case covered in stickers. Thanks.....

Sorry I think it's possibly a lighter pickguard and looks like gold plated tuners, perhaps aftermarket. I couldn't upload a .jpeg here for some reason, a link to the pic is here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151992793119436&set=p.10151992793119436&type=1&theater

Thanks,

Lars

I follow Harry on Facebook and have some detailed pics of the actual missing instrument as it looks these days. It has all black tuners with one gold one. I sure hope he gets his instrument back. He is one of my favorite artists.

I have a couple more pics of the instrument and the case. However, the board is not allowing me to add any more attachments.

Just my thoughts: The creep who ripped it off... more than likely thought it was a guitar? Upon opening it... gave it the old fish eye and is now looking to sell it quickly for cash.

I'd alert every music shop and pawn store within a certain (?) radius of Chicago, depending upon how badly you want it back...

If you're on FB maybe you can post the pics there at Vinyl Cafe's page: https://www.facebook.com/VinylCafe there's not much traffic here in this section.
If not feel free to email them to me and I can do it too, thanks for posting what you could!

Good news!!!
His instrument has been found by Chicago Police.
He is going to go to Chicago to pick it up.

From Harry Manx:
"Beloved friends, My Veena Has Been Found! On Monday the 24th, the man who stole my Mohan Veena at Chicago O’Hara Airport was caught while trying to steal more luggage.
He eventually gave up the location of the instrument and it was recovered.
The police now have it in their possession. I plan to return to Chicago next Tuesday to pick it up.
There’s no way for me to express the gratitude I have to everyone for helping out, but I would like
to say that the generous outpouring of support has uplifted my spirits and renewed my faith in the
kindness of strangers. love to all, in gratitude.
