Hello to all!

I recently found this sitar on the street in Barcelona, where someone put it to be thrown away with the trash. What a shame!!! but lucky me 😉

It's in a pretty bad condition and I'm not entirely sure it can be fixed, but I would like to try nonetheless. I have attached some pictures where you can see the damage and I would like to ask you if you could have a look at them and perhaps even give me some details on it's origin and what type of materials it's made of, ( I think some parts are made of ivory!!) so that I can find the right products to fix it up.

As you will see, the bottom and part of the neck have been broken and would need glue [confused] and filler to repair, I have taken off the strings and frets already and removed some of the dirt and debris that was trapped in the bottom. Some of the tuning toggles seem to be missing, but I think most are there.

Perhaps it's beyond repair but I think if I can tie it tightly, the broken parts can be put back together, although I think it would affect the sound to some extend. Also I would like to renew the decoration on the side as it's peeling off in most places and cracks under the slightest bit of pressure, but I don't really know where to find the materials I need.

Thank you all in advance for helping me out! [smile]

Don't spend too much time on it as it's what we call a LUCKNOW sitar meaning a very cheap model.
