I don't know of a place to get one. I've been on the lookout in craigslist and ebay and one came up recently on craigslist so I jumped on it, especially since it was nearby. The previous owner had it imported from Inni Singh and I was saved the angst of waiting etc. The drum sounded pretty good as it was but some modifications helped improve the sound and playability.
There's a tabla set with metal dhamma being sold in san francisco on craigslist...

While doing some research on the dhamma I came upon the wiki page for tabla and came upon an interesting "fact"?
Regarding dhamma style:
"A reminder, that this style of tabla was used all over India not long ago is that many modern tabla tuning (brass) hammers still have a dough (removal) spatula on the reverse end." I always wondered what that thing sticking out of the hand was for and though I'm not using the flour patch method, I can now die happy with the knowledge.

I know that Jas, in London UK, sells them. Perhaps other UK-based shops do as well.
