I was wondering what are some good places in Delhi to buy a sitar? I know rikhi ram is there, but what other places? I am looking for a vilyat khan style sitar. Thanks.

Go to Ebay, 'search' sitar/shanmaker & contact him through there. He has some of the best sitars I've had. Tell him you got him through Nick from England & see what he says. His shop is on Pahar Ganj main road with a little doorway going up over a different shop.
Are you in Delhi now as I'll arrive there on the 28th??

Lal Bazaar IS the place for the better sitars in Kolkatta. Many still deal there from yesteryear.

But they all seem to sell the traditional style sitars. I want a good Vilayat Khan style sitar.

Right !! Well you've obviously got tons of money so, as I said, go to Lal Bazaar & see the big name guys there. You WILL get a good VK style!!
I presume this is your first trip to India, certainly to buy a sitar anyway?
Why do you think these shops ONLY sell 'regular' sitars?
