Groovy.
I would like to own Gilmore's Kartar Chand.
I actually want a nice Kartar Chand sitar too, but the fact that it is Gilmore's does not make we want it less.
I certainly don't need another sitar...

Beautiful instrument; too bad about the crack on the back of the neck.
Some history on Kartar Chand on the sitar factory site.

Also found another one for sale:

That last one is very expensive. They are usually around 1000$ or so.

For the estimated price it would certainly be one of the more affordable pieces in this auction, although i assume it goes for much more than that...

If it was Harrison's it certainly would...

this raises a question: Is there such a thing as "celebrity sitars" in ICM? For instance, who owns the instruments of Banerjee, Vilayat Khan, and Shankar?

Are there instances of famous instruments that got passed on to other players ( analogous to , say, the peter green/gary moore/Hetfield  les paul)

regards mike
