Teental Rela, Style Dilli
Composer : Ustad Amir Hussain Khan

TereKete Tak TereKete Tak Tak Tak TereKete Tak DhineGine Tak Tak Tak
TereKete Tak TereKete Tak Tak Tak TereKete Tak TineKine Tak Tak Tak
TereKete Tak TereKete Tak Tak Tak TereKete Tak TineKine Tak Tak Tak
TereKete Tak TereKete Tak Tak Tak TereKete Tak DhineGine Tak Tak Tak

Nikas:

Three finger Terekete ( middle, index, (Ke), ring - each hitting middle of syahi)
Tak on Kinar (with Ke on left) [recitation of Tak should sound like 'puck']
DhineGine standard - index finger on syahi for Dhi/Ti, ring finger for Ne

It helps with speed to have the fingers of the left hand curled up and sitting in one place (as opposed to the left hand going back-and-forth between being curled and being flat). In other words, execute Kes in the same way as Ges, just softer and stickier.

I received this Rela from Pt. Mulgaonkar who in turn had received it from Ustad Amir Hussain Khan as a prescription for building a good TereKete. It is on page 135 of Pt Mulgaonkar Ji's book "AtthaVanicha Doh" - the author's reminiscences of his Guru and a compilation of Ustad Amir Hussain Khan's choicest compositions.
