[EDIT: oops, I guess I didn't read to the end of the thread, forgive the duplication...]

Lars runs raincitymusic.com, a good stateside vendor for all things re Indian music, and he sells videos of Indrajit Banerjee, an excellent Texas-based sitarist, teaching technique and various raags. I have his Yaman one, which was quite helpful particularly before I found my teacher.

Good luck! As difficult as it may seem to find information and music locally in the UK, its even worse here in the Great Plains of the US. Our metropolitan area has 2 million people and 8000 square miles and still I feel like the only person with a sitar around here...very nearly am!

Though not as cool as Boston today, with all of the snow they are gonna get. I sure hope their roofs hold up...

Arnab Chakrabarty, he's a sarod player from India who is spending some time in Leeds.
He's also a skilled sitar player.
Doing private 1-to-1 lessons. I start this Saturday. Really looking forward to it.
