Thanks for that John although I find it interesting they call him a SINGER first as I've only ever seen him play Rudra Veena.

It was a fantastic concert. I had hoped to make a recording, but alas, it didn't happen.

The programme was:

Yaman - Alap, Jor Jhalla & Compostition in Chautal.

Then a fascinating discussion about Sruti-s, however ustadji did not have a microphone, so it was difficult to hear what he was saying over the tanpuras.
He then demonstrated, what I think I heard him describe as "an old and rare Sruti of komal Ni", by playing Alap, Jor and Jhalla in rag Kambhoji.
Regardless of what I heard him say, what I heard him *play* was very beautiful.
