I was curious if anyone know how scales are fingered in the - two fingers only - Amjad Ali Khan school of playing?
For sake of reference, I'm currently practicing Kalyan that in first two octaves, which looks like this, starting with the low Sa string
- open, 1st, 3rd, 3rd
- open, 1st, 3rd
- open, 1st, 3rd
- 1st, 1st, 3rd, 1st, 2nd

1st being the index finger, etc.
Would the 3rd finger simply be replaced with the 2nd in this pattern? Seems like it would require some big stretches, or jumping around the fingerboard.

Which is why women don't need to practice. They already ARE perfect.
