Advance notice:
Sri Anubrata Chatterjee, son and star pupil of Pt. Anindo Chatterjee will be in the Washington, D.C. area during the week of 24th March - 1st April. for concerts, tabla workshops, and one-on-one tabla lessons.
Anubrata, who was the last Ganda Bandh pupil of Pt. Gyan Prakash Ghosh, is along with Sri Rimpa Shiv, also of Kolkata, two of the fastest rising and most talented tabla performers of the current generation. Steeped since early childhood in the tabla tradition of his father and in the music tradition of Kolkata, Sri Chatterjee, who is destined to become, above all, a ‘musician’s musician’, already has a solid repertoire of both his father’s and his own compositions and has accompanied numerous Indian musical luminaries in concerts throughout the world . He is curently traveling in the U.S. with sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee and with Ust. Amjad Ali Khan’s sons, sarodists Aman & Ayan Khan
