I like the headstock a lot. I am a sucker for those curved ends that are plant rather than animal.

I love these old style instruments...makes me think of something you'd see pictured in a film like Jalsaghar, or played by Imdad Khan, etc. Inspiring enough to make me want to shut down the computer and go and play my own instruments...I've seen quite sufficient of the day's horrible news, might as well indulge in some fleeting beauty after a day of ugliness.

Lovely find, anyway. Good luck restoring it to a state of playability...with the right pegs and bridge it seems like it might be pretty solid otherwise!

Nick, I saw the same sitar and was going to bid on it! unfortunately I was told by my other half that a fourth Sitar was NOT an option glad we didn't end up bidding against each other. Anywat it really is a real find - I wish you good luck and enjoy playing it!
